Current Mood: hopeful

On Sunday, April 19th there will be a walk/ride/run for Epilepsy.
This is a yearly event put on by The Epilepsy Foundation. This will be my first year being involved with the event. The feeling of giving back to an organization who has helped many people of all types dealing with this condition.
Epilepsy Awareness is not as strong as other disorders but the organization has done a lot to change that. TO this day, you never know if the person your standing next to has Epilepsy ;)
Some people can be under full control with the help of medication, sometimes surgery. But then there are the people who are not able to be controlled. Thats where the Foundation comes in, and for all that they do, I feel very strongly about wanting to give something back.
As most of you know I am a bit of a star wars nut, belonging to a group of star wars nuts :P We do A LOT of charity work. I have asked my fellow troopers to help me out on this quest and so far have raised $1,085.00!! Considering the current economic situation we are all in, thats pretty damn good.
There will be news reporters there, a lot of free stuff, and im really excited (and quite nervous) about the big day.
If you would like to view more info on the even, you can Click Here.
If you would like to take part in this walk, you can register for 25.00. This includes a few free goodies as well. Including free dinner at PHIL'S BBQ, a t-shirt, and a few other goodies. You can register by clicking HERE.
If 25.00 is a little steep and you would like to simply make a donation, simply click HERE.
Out of all the events I have done for the 501st legion, this one kinda hits me close to home, as some of you know why. I had planned on going as a regular stormtrooper but they had many requests for a vader, hence why I have been doing some alterations on my costume, and some work on my helmet.
If you have any questions feel free to comment, or PM me. I realize this is short notice but I too have been kind of busy between looking for work and planning for this event.
Thank You for reading! cheers |
