Apr. 13th, 2009 @ 02:44 pm Epilepsy Walk This weekend
Current Mood: hopeful

On Sunday, April 19th there will be a walk/ride/run for Epilepsy.

This is a yearly event put on by The Epilepsy Foundation. This will be my first year being involved with the event. The feeling of giving back to an organization who has helped many people of all types dealing with this condition.

Epilepsy Awareness is not as strong as other disorders but the organization has done a lot to change that. TO this day, you never know if the person your standing next to has Epilepsy ;)

Some people can be under full control with the help of medication, sometimes surgery. But then there are the people who are not able to be controlled. Thats where the Foundation comes in, and for all that they do, I feel very strongly about wanting to give something back.

As most of you know I am a bit of a star wars nut, belonging to a group of star wars nuts :P We do A LOT of charity work. I have asked my fellow troopers to help me out on this quest and so far have raised $1,085.00!! Considering the current economic situation we are all in, thats pretty damn good.

There will be news reporters there, a lot of free stuff, and im really excited (and quite nervous) about the big day.

If you would like to view more info on the even, you can Click Here.

If you would like to take part in this walk, you can register for 25.00. This includes a few free goodies as well. Including free dinner at
PHIL'S BBQ, a t-shirt, and a few other goodies. You can register by clicking HERE.

If 25.00 is a little steep and you would like to simply make a donation, simply click HERE.

Out of all the events I have done for the 501st legion, this one kinda hits me close to home, as some of you know why. I had planned on going as a regular stormtrooper but they had many requests for a vader, hence why I have been doing some alterations on my costume, and some work on my helmet.

If you have any questions feel free to comment, or PM me. I realize this is short notice but I too have been kind of busy between looking for work and planning for this event.

Thank You for reading!
cheers

Mar. 30th, 2009 @ 01:11 pm Seeking Dentist
I may have asked this before, but i have also added more friends to my list.

Can anyone pass along a good dentist? I dont mean the kind you find in Beverly Hills. I mean one that is friendly and doesnt want to put you under when you really dont need to. There is one on El Cajon blvd by the live wire, but all they want to do is put you under to do the work, no thanks!

Ive got medical insurance if that helps.

thanks!

Current Mood: excited
Today I was on the Epilepsy Foundation website http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/ and there was Greg, who has joined up to raise awareness for a cure.

Some of you may recall that I got to spend a little time with him at one of my 501st events (The Spike TV Scream Awards)

EDIT:
Turns out that Gregs son Jake has Epilepsy. Which would explain why he wants to help so much..

Dec. 30th, 2008 @ 04:29 pm Holiday Bowl Dec 29th
Current Mood: happy
The bowl was a blast. Last year we had more people but I still enjoyed it. This year I was Vader. The new outer cloak worked great.

Fox Coverage: note the breathing edit while I was trying to talk :P

Feb. 10th, 2008 @ 05:53 pm Spent!
Wow, I spent so much time on the dance floor, When I woke up today, my legs took a minute to register :P

I suppose walking to Brians, along with an additional walk didnt help much.

Hrmmm, ah yes I also spent about 3 hours looking for a replacement tailgate for my truck. (which I was successful, more on that later)

Jan. 28th, 2008 @ 12:07 pm OMG he's lost it
Officially, "Tom" is a nut job. I dont care "what" religion or topic he is talking about..

I couldnt even watch it all. bout a minute was enough for me. :P

The thing that confuses me is that this video was allegedly "leaked" (i.e. released) by the scientologists themselves (from what I heard)so that really begs the question, "What's their motive (for releasing it)?"
